Food for Fines
The Meigs County District Public Library will once again be accepting non-perishable food items in exchange for fines during this holiday season. The library will waive $1.00 in overdue fines for every canned food or non-perishable boxed item donated to our food drive. Charges for lost material will not be waived. This program will continue through the end of the year. Library staff is required to ensure the food items are not expired, so be sure to check the dates on those green beans!
Presents for Puppies
This year, the Library will also be accepting items for the Meigs County Dog Shelter in exchange for overdue fines. The shelter is in need of bleach, blankets, towels, cleaning supplies, leashes, and collars. Library staff will accept new items with the receipt. The price paid for the items will be doubled. This amount will be waived from the donor’s library account. We will not be able to accept donations of this nature in exchange for the price of lost library materials, only the overdue fines accrued.
